Booking app for tutors in Singapore: lessons and trial classes online
BookingWith is a booking app for private tutors in Singapore. Parents open your link, see the lesson times you have free, book a lesson or a trial class and pay by PayNow straight to you. They can move a lesson themselves when school plans change. It's built for solo tutors and teachers, and the first month is free.
Part of our guide to online booking in Singapore.
Less time arranging lessons, more time teaching
A solo tutor's evenings fill up with messages that have nothing to do with teaching. "Can we do Thursday instead?" "Is 4pm still free?" "CCA got moved, sorry." Each one is small. Together they eat the hour you meant to spend marking.
BookingWith is for the tutor, music teacher or language coach who works alone or with one or two others. It isn't a tuition-centre system with class rosters and term invoices. It does one job: parents see when you're free and book it.
What parents see
Your page lists what you teach, how long each lesson is and what it costs. A parent picks a lesson, sees the free times and books on their phone, at 11pm if that's when they remember.
- Only times that fit your teaching hours and aren't already taken
- A notes box for the student's name, level and what they need help with
- A PayNow QR for the amount you ask for up front
- Their own booking page, to move or cancel a lesson
Parents sign in with Google or an email code, so there's no password to remember and they can find their child's lessons again later.
Trial lessons without the back-and-forth
Most parents want to see a tutor with their child before they commit. Your page starts with a short Trial lesson that's free and needs no deposit, so a parent can book it like any other slot. Make it longer, charge for it or remove it: it's your call.

Payment by PayNow, straight to you
Each booking can ask for a deposit, or the full lesson fee, by PayNow to your own mobile number or UEN. BookingWith never holds the money and charges nothing on it. The parent pays from their banking app and taps "I've paid"; you check your bank and tap Confirm payment.
Payment is per lesson today. There's no term package or monthly invoice yet. If you bill by the term, keep doing that your own way, set the deposit to 0 and use the booking page for scheduling.
When school plans change
CCA, exam week, a fever on Tuesday morning. On paid plans, parents can move or cancel a lesson themselves until your cut-off, which you set anywhere from 2 to 72 hours before the lesson, or right up to the start. Later than that, they're asked to message you.
A moved lesson keeps its payment, and the old slot opens up for another student straight away. Parents who ask for one get a WhatsApp reminder the day before.
Online lessons and your own calendar
For lessons over video, add a service of the type Meeting / consultation and set it to Video call. Connect Google Calendar, and each confirmed lesson gets its own Google Meet link and appears in your calendar.
Google Calendar also keeps your page honest: when you're marked busy there, with your own classes or a family trip, that time can't be booked. If you teach at the student's home, ask parents to put the address in the notes.
What it costs
Your first month of Solo is free, with no card needed. After that, during our launch, Solo is S$1 a month (usually S$15) or S$10 a year, paid by PayNow. There's no commission on your lessons.
If you don't pay, you move to the Free plan: your page stays online for 20 online bookings a month, and deposits, online changes, Google Calendar and reminders switch off until you do.
Solo is one calendar, which is what a solo tutor needs. Team and Business plans, for several teachers each with their own calendar, are coming soon.
Questions
Can parents book for their child?
Yes. The parent signs in and books, and puts the child's name and level in the notes. One parent can book lessons for more than one child.
How do I offer a free trial lesson?
It's there from the start: choosing Tutoring & classes adds a Trial lesson that's free, with no deposit. Edit its length or description, or set a price if your trials are paid.
Can I block school holidays or exam weeks?
There's no holiday setting yet. For a break, connect Google Calendar and block those days with events marked Busy: busy times can't be booked. For a regular day off, tick Closed for that day in your opening hours.
Can I take payment for a whole term?
Not as a package yet. Payment is per lesson: each booking shows a PayNow QR for the amount you set, up to the full lesson fee. If you bill by the term, set the deposit to 0 and use the page for scheduling only.
Can I teach online with Google Meet?
Yes. Add a Meeting / consultation service set to Video call and connect Google Calendar. Each confirmed lesson then gets a Google Meet link.
Can I teach small groups?
Yes. Each lesson type has a number of students who can book the same time. Set it to 4, and a group class takes four bookings and then shows as full.
