Online booking for Singapore businesses: your questions

How online booking works for a small service business in Singapore: deposits by PayNow, fewer no-shows, customers who reschedule themselves, WhatsApp reminders and Google Calendar.

Getting started

What an online booking page is, who it's for, and how long it takes to set up.

What is BookingWith?

A booking page for your business, at bookingwith.synthwork.app/your-business. Customers see when you're free, book a service, pay a deposit by PayNow and can reschedule themselves. You manage everything from a dashboard on your phone.

Which businesses is it for?

Any Singapore business that takes appointments: hair and beauty, massage and wellness, fitness and coaching, tuition and classes, photography, physio, TCM and therapy, home services, consultants and pet care.

How long does it take to set up?

About five minutes. Pick your kind of business and we add example services and prices, which you then edit. Add your PayNow UEN or mobile and your WhatsApp number, set your opening hours, and share your link.

Do I need a website?

No. Your booking page is your website for bookings. Put the link in your Instagram bio, WhatsApp Business profile, Google Business Profile or on a flyer.

Does it work for a home-based business?

Yes. Your address is optional; add it only if customers come to you. Many home-based salons, tutors and trainers use a booking link instead of arranging times over WhatsApp.

Plans and pricing

What it costs, what's free, and what happens after the free month.

How much does it cost?

Your first month of Solo are free. After that, during our launch, Solo is $1.00 a month (usually $15.00) or $10.00 a year, paid by PayNow. There's no commission on your bookings.

What's included in the Free plan?

Your booking page, the WhatsApp button and 20 online bookings a month, free for as long as you like. PayNow deposits, online changes and cancellations, Google Calendar sync and WhatsApp reminders are on paid plans.

What happens when my free month ends?

Your dashboard counts down the days left. If you pay, everything carries on. If you don't, your business moves to the Free plan: your page stays online, and the paid features switch off until you pay.

Monthly or yearly?

Either. Monthly is $1.00; a year is $10.00, which is ten months' price and means one payment instead of twelve.

Can I get another free month with a new business?

No. The free month is one per person. A new business with the same account, WhatsApp number or PayNow as an earlier one starts on the Free plan.

Is there a plan for teams?

Team (up to 5 staff calendars) and Business (up to 15) are coming soon. For now, Solo covers one calendar, and you can still run several services on it.

Deposits and PayNow

How customers pay, where the money goes, and how you confirm it.

How do deposits work?

When a customer books, their booking page shows a PayNow QR for your UEN or mobile with the exact amount and the booking reference. They pay from their banking app and tap "I've paid". You check your bank and tap Confirm payment on your dashboard, and the booking is confirmed.

Are there fees on deposits?

BookingWith charges nothing on deposits. PayNow transfers into your account are free with most banks. Card payments through Stripe are optional and carry Stripe's fees.

Does BookingWith hold my money?

No. Customers pay you directly by PayNow. We only show your QR code; the money never passes through us.

Should I use my UEN or my mobile for PayNow?

Either works. A UEN shows your registered business name to customers and keeps business money separate; a mobile number is fine for sole traders without a UEN.

How much deposit should I take?

Enough that people turn up: many Singapore salons take S$20–50 or a fixed share of the price. You set a default in Settings and can change it per service, or set 0 for no deposit.

Changes, cancellations and no-shows

Letting customers reschedule, and keeping no-shows down.

Can customers reschedule or cancel themselves?

Yes, on paid plans. From their booking page they can change the date or time, or cancel, until your cut-off. Moving a booking keeps their deposit, so nobody pays twice.

How late can they change a booking?

You choose in Settings: any time before it starts, or up to 2, 6, 12, 24, 48 or 72 hours before. The default is 24 hours. After the cut-off, customers see a button to message you instead.

What happens to the deposit if they cancel?

It isn't refunded automatically: you decide, based on your own policy. We suggest writing your policy in your service descriptions so customers see it before they book.

Can two people book the same time?

Only if you allow it. Each service has a capacity (for example 1 for a haircut, 10 for a group class), and times are re-checked the moment someone books, so a slot can't be double-booked.

Reminders and alerts

Reminding customers, and knowing when something changes.

Do customers get a WhatsApp reminder?

Yes, on paid plans, if they ask for one. After booking, customers tap "Get a reminder on WhatsApp" and send us a message; they then get a reminder the day before. Asking first keeps your messages welcome and your number in good standing.

How do I know about new bookings?

Every new booking, "I've paid", change and cancellation appears under "What's new" on your dashboard, with a count on the Admin link so you notice.

Can customers message me on WhatsApp?

Yes. Your booking page and each booking have a WhatsApp button that opens a chat with your business number, with the booking details filled in.

Google Calendar

Keeping your booking page and your own calendar in step.

Can I connect my Google Calendar?

Yes, on paid plans. Times you're busy in Google Calendar can't be booked, and confirmed bookings are added to it, with a Google Meet link for video appointments. Connect it in Settings.

Why does Google say the app isn't verified?

Google shows that for new apps until it has reviewed them. Click Advanced, then Go to BookingWith, and tick both calendar boxes. We only see when you're busy and only add or remove your bookings.

Privacy and your data

What we keep and how to remove it.

What do you store about my customers?

Their name, phone number, the booking and any notes they add (and pet details for pet businesses). We don't sell data or show ads. Details are in our privacy policy.

Can I delete my business?

Yes, anytime, in Settings. It removes your services, bookings and settings. We keep a short record of your sign-up so the free month stays one per person.

For customers booking an appointment

If you're booking with a business on BookingWith.

Do I need an account?

You sign in with Google or an email code, so you can see and change your bookings later. There's no password to remember.

How do I change or cancel my booking?

Open the booking from My bookings and use Change date or time, or Cancel. If it's too close to the appointment, message the business on WhatsApp instead.

I paid, but my booking still says it's being checked.

The business confirms PayNow payments against their bank, usually within a day. Your time is held meanwhile. Message them on WhatsApp if it's urgent.

Will I get my deposit back if I cancel?

That's up to the business. Moving your booking to another time keeps your deposit.
